We Support DIYers
Our DIY HVAC Install Assistance Program is designed for homeowners who want to take an active role in their installation while ensuring the most critical technical work is handled correctly by a licensed professional.
With this program, you purchase the HVAC equipment directly through us and complete the non-technical portions of the installation on your own. We then step in to perform the essential final steps that require specialized tools, training, and licensing — brazing, pressure testing, vacuum evacuation, and refrigerant charging.
How It Works
You handle the accessible portions of the install
Removal of existing HVAC equipment
Setting and securing the indoor unit (furnace, air handler, or coil)
Setting and securing the outdoor condenser or heat pump
Installing and connecting ductwork, plenums, and transitions
Routing, supporting, and insulating the refrigerant line set
Installing condensate drain lines and secondary drain protection
Electrical rough-in, disconnect installation, and whip routing
Thermostat installation and low-voltage wiring
Gas piping and venting preparation (where applicable)
Equipment pad placement and mounting
Sealing penetrations and securing line set covers
General jobsite preparation and cleanup
We handle the precision work that ensures system performance and reliability:
Professional brazing of refrigerant lines
Nitrogen pressure testing
Deep vacuum evacuation
Accurate refrigerant charging and system startup
Customer Responsibility for Permits
As part of our DIY Install Assistance Program, the homeowner is responsible for securing all required permits and approvals necessary for the installation. This includes:
Obtaining Local Permits: You must contact your local building department to acquire the appropriate HVAC installation permits.
Compliance with Codes: Ensuring that the installation meets all local building codes and regulations is essential.
Scheduling Inspections: You are responsible for arranging and coordinating any required inspections to verify compliance and safety.
We will provide guidance on how to pull the owner builder permits
